"Staples is a company in change. Over the past 20 years it has migrated from an entrepreneurial company to a corporation. It has struggled to keep up with technologies and does not maintain technologies that make its workforce efficient. It has gone the off-shore route inefficiently and ineffectively. It's competition has migrated to Amazon, which will require a cultural shift both internally and externally with investors."

"Retail is a difficult environment to work in. Staples was at one time a great place to work, but with the economy faltering it has tightened the payroll belt so tight that you can't get the job done. I understand why the leadership is doing it but they need to stop living in a dream world where everything gets done when they want it. My stress level is at a point where its negatively impacting my health."

"I have worked for Staples Advantage division for over 8 years. The company is financially sound but lacks communication for procedural changes and application for field personnel. Often has unreasonable quota's that leaves little for life to work balance. The company has whole says it promotes within and does but it often takes applying several times often changing the process to move up in the company."

"The relationship I had with supervisors and staff was very good. However, there were many instances in which I felt the store was under staffed. The compensation provided for our work is also what I would consider below average. The work environment and tools provided felt average."

"It is a challenging environment. I enjoyed the people I worked with and stayed for that reason. Unfortunately, the slow advancement and compensation level has forced me to seek other employment. It can be an opportunity for the correct individuals. It's a long road and a culture that must be fully adopted. Individuality is praised as long as that individual conforms to ever changing cultural standards."

"I've worked at Staples for more than 3 years, and I found it a very rewarding experience. I got to work on many different kind of projects, which helped me grow in my career, as well as give different views on specific subjects. It also allowed me to input my ideas into something people will be using all the time."
