What do you like about working at Sperry & Rice Manufacturing?

"Wasn't tied to one spot as extrusion supervisor. Had the ability to move from place to place at will. I also was not micromanaged. I was permitted to make my own decisions and run the department with minimal oversight."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"It's a physically demanding, dirty job with poor management and little pay. If you need a temporary job, okay, but keep looking."

What don't you like about working at Sperry & Rice Manufacturing?

"Sometimes the plant manager made unreasonable demands. We never seemed to have the materials we needed to complete jobs. And upper management seemed to be intent on playing head games."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would treat employees with respect, listen and understand their needs and feelings, while at the same time, demand the same from them. I would give credit where it was due, publicly acknowledge jobs wall done, and take the responsibility for my own mistakes. Also, if an employee made a mistake, I would not broadcast it on the shop floor."
