"I've worked for Speedway LLC since June of 2019. Generally, it has been a pleasure to work for the company, but there are deficits within the internship program. Job expectations are high, yet I wasn't given the proper tools and technology to do my job to the best of my ability."

"I worked for Speedway since 2004, great mid-western company focused on bringing value to the customer. Owned by Marathon, Speedway has grown in the last few years to become a national convenience store chain. Speedway employees began to be replaced by Marathon employees."

"I don't even know where to begin with this job. Now I will say that I started working at Speedway as soon as they took over Hess. So I have no idea how this place was run before being taken over. First, I was hired right on the spot. That's no problem. I specifically asked my manager what I should wear on my first day. He said, "Don't worry about it." Okay. So I wore jeans and a button down shirt. It's a gas station for crying out loud. I show up on my first day and he says, "You can't be wearing jeans." Well, I specifically asked you and you said not to worry about it. I wasn't trained AT ALL. I observed a cashier for about an hour and I was off and running. I had never worked with cigarettes or lottery before so I was pretty much winging it. On my second day someone came in and asked for a pack of cigarettes. I get them and then ask for ID. Well, it turns out had I been trained I'd know you have to ask for ID FIRST. No one told me and the store received a "demerit" for not carding first. Oh, well. Maybe they'll train the next person correctly. I was also told in my interview that I would never have to close (either 10 or 11 PM) and open the next morning. This happened in my first week! So much for that. I was also told in my interview that they do numerous yearly reviews with substantial raises. False. They do one review where they cap off raises at 30 cents and where most people receive 10 cents. That's $4 per week before taxes (if you're full time). I also didn't get paid for the first two weeks I was there. They blamed it on the post office. I also requested direct deposit on three different occasions and they even have a copy of a voided check with my bank information on it. Did it get done? Nope. The manager would also leave at random points during the day and say, "No matter who calls, and no matter when it is, tell them I just left. Even if it's three hours from now." Way to manage! I've reached character limit and there's more! Enough said."

Shift Leader

"I enjoyed the position I heald but was not liked by stores upper management."

What do you like about working at Speedway SuperAmerica?

"I enjoyed dealing with the public and making the store look clean and professional."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I would tell others to be 100% honest with their credentials. Do not make the employer believe they are experienced in areas they are not or capablem to do a job that they have no idea how to do. I have seen so many beef up a resume with false credentials just to get an interview but fale to realize in the end the interviewer will be the one skilled in the position and will know if what you say matches what is on paper."

What don't you like about working at Speedway SuperAmerica?

"Ever since the start of my position other exployees with the same rank and even the upper management of the store did not like the fact that I started in a mangement position without having previous experience in a lower role as the others did. I was mocked for my previous management experience and wrote up for several instances during my training just to get me fired. That kind of work environment I would not tolerate so I left."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"My suggestion would be that if management appoints a duty to an employee or another in a mangement position, that they give the employees room to complete the task(s) on their own and intervene only if in set time those tasks are not completed. It is my experience that exployees are more productive when given the freedon to work on their own without constant supervision."

What suggestions do you have for management?
