"Sonesta acquired our hotel in December 2020 and it has been a bad experience since. The first red flag was when they strung our AGM along, having her do the GM duties without pay, and then refusing to promote her. Secondly, they lied about things she said during her interview process with the head of our brand (I was in the room during her entire interview unbeknownst to him). Lastly, they rolled out a new bonus plan to the DOSs in April 2022 and then changed a large number of sales targets in September. This cut my bonus $13K and lowered others' significantly as well. These new targets included numbers for July and August that did not match what had already been actualized in those months. The reasoning given included inaccurate forecasting in certain segments when the on-property teams were never told to forecast inside segments (they were only doing a general forecast at that point). This company grew too big, and too fast, and were not prepared to do so. They are horribly unorganized, they communicate with on-property teams poorly, and they do not value their employees. Steer clear."
