"Visability to Senior Management. Ability to alter some of development processes. Some of my colleagues were honest and reliable."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Try to determine your fit within the culture there. Do not believe everything that is revealed during the interview. Try to probe deeper - ask if re-structuring is in the immediate plans."
What don't you like about working at Johnson Controls?
"Primarily Holland - the work culture is stifling for efficient work completion. Performance reviews were back stabbing exercises where people could supply damaging feedback without any way to debate some of the claims."

"If you don't mind long hours for average pay in a fun industry, this is for you."

"Hours were long and you weren't compensated for extra time and effort."

What do you like about working at Sun Microsystems?
"The energy and commitment from the employees were great. They understood the concept of collective intelligence and welcomed employee's inputs and ideas."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"You need to be top-notch. They are very selective with there hiring process."
What don't you like about working at Sun Microsystems?
"It was too volatile. They didn't know how to compete against the application-set from Microsoft and everyone was worried about being laid-off on Thursday. Thursday was the notification day for termination."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"There seem to be many cults within the company. Too frequently the compete against each other. For example Java Soft was a stand-alone division making great market penetration however, the decision was made that they were too successful and were brought back into the center-line development effort of Sun Microsystems. They should have been left as a business unit with their own traceable revenuies."
