"A lot of great business problems to solve, particularly automating traditionally human processes"

"A good attitude and knowing software in general is more important than knowing PHP"
What don't you like about working at 4over?
"Lack of a single, focused technical strategy. Micromanaging, untrusting CEO."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Trust the people you hire to do the jobs they were hired to do."
What do you like about working at IBM?
"Security of a large company and all the benefits that come with that."

"IBM is a huge company so if you like that then great..."
What don't you like about working at IBM?
"Stifling, bureaucratic company to work for that is very set in its ways"

"Make it less bureaucratic and more fun to work for"

"IT department was too isolated from other departments"
What do you like about working at Active Interest Media?
"I had a great team. Members had strong suits and we were generally able to target people at those things in which they were skilled."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"I think the company has a long ways to go to develop a culture that integrates IT with its traditional publishing infrastructure. I.e., I think the company views IT as this black box you put stuff into and get money-making websites out of."
What don't you like about working at Active Interest Media?
"Ultimately, we were pulled in too many directions, and as stated, the it department was too isolated from the rest of the company. I didn't meet the COO before I was notified of the restructuring, and my boss reported to him. It's not like the company had 1000 people. It would've been reasonable and proper for him to, for instance, do a brownbag lunch with us: particularly since his vision was to grow online revenue to 25% of the company's total."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"See above. I feel that our restructuring results from the input of external consultants and the opinions of our department were never heard."

"Like to experiment new ways, to develop things. Like to teach other co-workers new techniques."

"Besides of the problems I mention, it's good to know people inside the firm who wants to work with you."
What don't you like about working at DataWORKS?
"The lack of support from the upper management, to develop skills and learn new technologies. The upper management always got the new equipment"

"Be more centered to here employee needs and give them more tools"

"I like that the end of the day is not much demanding, and I can have another job on the side."

"If you are a full-timer, it won't always possible to find space for personal growth. If you are a consultant, make sure to be paid well, as they have money."
What don't you like about working at Cisco Systems?
"I dislike the old-school culture. People want to be recognized but are not always willing to do anything about it."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would suggest a more start up culture, with lesser full-time employee DMV-like."

"Vision, challenge, work culture and attitude. Trust and freedom from my managers"

"Be genuine and passionate. U better love challenges. Brush up on tech."

"workload hours - sometimes some politics in certain camps of certain groups."

"Even HR/ ppl management is very data driven - but networking and relationships are just as important."

"Working at Lenovo was a great learning experience and I would go back tomorrow."
What do you like about working at Lenovo?
"The people and the level of collaboration on projects. The degree of stress was not overwhelming and they are very flexible with hours."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Just be yourself, be professional but casual and whenever there is an opportunity for more responsibility, do not be bashful."
What don't you like about working at Lenovo?
"The only fault I found in Lenovo is also true for just about every corporation operating in the US today. No matter hoe good you are at what you do, no matter how long you've been there, when quarterly results come in, you are looking over you shoulder wondering if you'll be part of a resource action."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"You will not find better managers than at Lenovo and I learned a great deal from each of them in my role as team lead."

"This company demands smart, motivated people with a desire to learn."

"The business seems to have peaked. New ideas and growth seem to be a problem."

"Return to the HP Way the founders used. Technology is driven both from the inside and the outside influences."
