"I worked with Silgan Containers for most 11 years and enjoyed most of them. The opportunity to advance got bogged down at times by individual plant needs. I feel Silgan Containers is a great place to work. The management bends over backwards to keep the work environment safe and clean. Safety was always first in the plants I worked in and there was no negotiating it. I would recommend Silgan to anyone looking for a great place to work."

"Micromanagement prohibits growth in employees and always feeling like you've been beat up after a supervisor/manager meeting"

"Forget about making a correct decision; just MAKE a decision. I wish I could tell you that they'd correct you, but I can't. It's said that you can't teach stupid. Well, stupid can't teach either."

What don't you like about working at Silgan Containers?

"The training program is anything but that. Upper management's lack of direction, insight and hypocrisies leave much to be desired. The good old boy philosophy runs deep; unless you're from another Silgan plant or from their locality, don't expect too much."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"A clear sense of direction and insight would be nice. Also, please leave the good old boy philosophy for The Dukes of Hazzard. (And yes, that's the correct spelling of Hazard for the TV show. Sorry, they're a little slow over there.)"
