"This company provides an individual the opportunity to learn the process and the equipment involved while receiving a substantial salary in the process. Although this is the case, taking into consideration just the time required at work, the breakdown on an hourly basis during the 1 year learning phase is low. This does not include the time invested at home that is needed to complete projects since no time is given at work to work on them. Good for single person but not a family person."

"No latitude to improve production with current budgets. Always working on broken old equipment the needs to be replaced."

"Small talk will get you in. Favoritism and politics is a big part of the silgan game."

"Mostly men in plant 1 woman to every 10 men. very dirty and extrem climate conditions."

"Company would benefit from making hourly employees feel more like a part of the team.Us against management isn't good for moral"

"Forget about making a correct decision; just MAKE a decision. I wish I could tell you that they'd correct you, but I can't. It's said that you can't teach stupid. Well, stupid can't teach either."

"The training program is anything but that. Upper management's lack of direction, insight and hypocrisies leave much to be desired. The good old boy philosophy runs deep; unless you're from another Silgan plant or from their locality, don't expect too much."

"A clear sense of direction and insight would be nice. Also, please leave the good old boy philosophy for The Dukes of Hazzard. (And yes, that's the correct spelling of Hazard for the TV show. Sorry, they're a little slow over there.)"
