Seton Hall University is the oldest Catholic university in New Jersey and the oldest diocesan university in the United States. The school was founded in 1856, and its name honors Elizabeth Anne Seton, the first Catholic saint born in America. Today, the university has approximately 10,000 students and is well-known for its education, nursing, law, business and diplomacy programs.

Seton Hall's 58-acre main campus is located in South Orange, New Jersey, and the school maintains a satellite campus in Newark. The university is made up of nine schools and colleges. Combined, these academic divisions offer graduate, undergraduate and professional degrees in over 80 fields of study. In addition to its excellent reputation for academics, the school is known for athletics and has 14 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I varsity sports. Of these, the men's basketball program is the most well known.
