"I’ve worked at Sharp’s Creative Services department as a contractor summer of 2019. A lot of the work I did as a designer was for open enrollment 2020, along with some print production work. As a former patient at Sharp, I thought the Sharp experience was only extended to the hospital floor. I was amazed that the experience was even extended and enforced to employees at the corporate level—even their per diem workers. My coworkers were unbelievably kind in helping me get situated, and I was comfortable asking questions when I was unsure about some of their processes."

"The money and (somewhat) flexible job schedule"

"I can't say that I'd recommend working in IT/IS here."

What don't you like about working at Sharp HealthCare?

"Sharp has the Sharp Experience which is supposed to apply to patients and employees. I feel it does apply to patients but not employees / co-workers. People get hired and are kept when they have no, or little, technical ability. A great deal of the IS employees have a holier than thou attitude and it is very difficult to talk to management. If you don't understand something, instead of guiding and supporting you they will belittle you and make you feel like you should magically know the answer. As long as you're 100% perfect and make absolutely no mistakes ever, on any level it's great.As far as advancement, it leaves a sour taste when you ask what you need to advance and your manager informs you that you don't want to advance."

"Actually adopt the philosophies that are supposed to be at the core of the Sharp Experience"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"..get it in writing..keep a copy of evry document you produce..and every thing written about you. DO NOT TRUST Human Resources..they allowed manager to take advantage of staff"

What don't you like about working at Sharp HealthCare?

"Incompetent bosses, who recruited/hired/retained substandard staff. Tall/dark/dumb did well here. people who obviously should have been term'd..including managers hung on and even prospered. Managers & director rule by intimidation. Admin assistant bosses staff around like a lead and then complains when folks don't jump @ her demands. Punitive reassignments happen frequently. Quality personnel who consistantly perform well are ridiculed and have to fight for their raises."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get rid of the old boy network in place..security director hiring his old SDPD buddies"
