Skillset: Typically mortgage bankers must possess strong negotiation and communication skills as well as outstanding knowledge of finance and sales. They must be competent in mathematics and able to proficiently use computer software. Being able to confidently work with a team is also a major plus.
Education: Mortgage bankers are required to have at minimum an associate’s degree in finance or a related field. They are also required to have experience in the financial industry and a strong track record in sales.
