Skill Set: A lab technician will be required to understand mathematics, science and computer software. They will be required to use safety protocols when working with body fluids or chemicals. A lab technician must understand how to use laboratory equipment or machinery. They will need good eyesight, manual dexterity and a good sense of smell.
Education: Most lab technicians have at least an associate’s degree. While in college they will study biology, chemistry, physics and other subjects. A lab technician may be required to be certified, licensed or registered in some geographic regions.
