"Great company to work for before AT&T took over and failed to make sales happen."

What do you like about working at Alcatel-Lucent?

"The people I worked with and giving the customers customer value for their value, IE GTE California changed from bad service to the best service in the nation. Hawaii remote switch survived for 3 days when it was designed to be able to survive a 2 hour disconnect from the base unit, a vital service after the storm knocked out all other communication."

What don't you like about working at Alcatel-Lucent?

"Lucent gave away our maintenance, something Verizon needed to be able to show a valid sale of their network hardware."

What do you like about working at RKI Instruments?

"I absolutely love the work I do. I really like being able to conceive ideas and materializing them into a product. I like working on hardware and firmware and being able to design the PCB's for my designs."

What don't you like about working at RKI Instruments?

"I dont like the commute and the limited channels for advancement within the engineering group"

What do you like about working at Peterbilt Motors?

"1. Peterbilt has a lot of opportunities to move horizontally2. I have a great working relationship with my supervisor of 6 years3. I enjoy working with a lot of individuals I am required to frequently interact with4. I enjoy the variety or types of projects I get to work5. I enjoy being able to work alongside various groups (e.g. Purchasing, Marketing, Sales, Accounting, Electrical Engineering, Service, etc.) Peterbilt and PACCAR 6. Peterbilt has a great 401k and pension plan"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Before interviewing, research the culture and compensation of other companies in the region and industry. This should provide you with a better understanding of what companies are offering employees, and will also allow you to set reasonable expectations. And while youre in the interview, make sure Peterbilt's offerings are acceptable to you."

What don't you like about working at Peterbilt Motors?

"1. Peterbilt's culture is too conservative2. Compensation should be better3. Information should be better documented and stored, and should be made more accessible4. Peterbilt is somewhat slow to implement new technology into their vehicles5. Most of the people there are of the same demographic and are from the same geographic area6. There aren't a lot of opportunities to move laterally within engineering"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"1. Work on making the work environment more desirable for employees2. Improve the method and frequency of promoting3. Improve the management of information 4. Take more initiative in implement new technology into vehicles5. Recruit more from area outside of N. Texas"
