"I love being able to design and build tools and structures used by many throughout the organization. We often say that data is the lifeblood of our company and it's nice to have an impact on that. There can be the typical hoops and red tape to get through and tracking down the appropriate SME can be tedious."

Senior Database Analyst at WorleyParsons

What do you like about working at WorleyParsons?

"This is the way it was at first: Interesting. Learn something every day. Mentoring and training. Working as part of a team. Efforts and contributions were appreciated and acknowledged. Coworkers were friendly and supportive."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be ready to deal with some strong personalities. Get details about the level of communication between workers, supervisors and management, and about the level of support you can expect."

What don't you like about working at WorleyParsons?

"When my supervisor was fired, I was given almost NO support. I tried many times to communicate with management what needed to still be done even though I had not had the opportunity to be trained on everything my supervisor had done. Also the databases I worked with started having problems which I did not have the knowledge to be able to fix. Nothing was done about this. After the databases became unusable nothing was done to find another role for me or train me on something else."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Work with the client to find out they really wanted. Not insist on doing it our way no matter what."
