Education: Most computer operators have a high school diploma or GED and may have industry certifications such as CompTIA’s A+ and Network+. Most jobs provide on-the-job training in specific task that they require, allowing the computer operator to gain necessary experience.
Career Path: Computer operators are required to have working knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking. It is considered to be an entry-level job with much room for growth and opportunity. Pursuing a degree in computer science or a related field can prove to be very useful and allow for promotional opportunities. Industry certifications may also provide similar results.
