"I found this company to be very mismanaged and not very customer eccentric. I felt that they could have been more proactive about resolving customer issues."

What do you like about working at Sears?

"Although this may seem surprising, my favorite thing about working at Sears is the customers. They are usually very friendly and appreciate the work you do and the service you provide for them - especially if you go out of your way to help satisfy them. I also like the discount they give to employees but compared to other companies, it could be a little higher."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"My tips to others interviewing with this company are to be honest, show up in appropriate dress, and be on time. Other than those requirements there doesn't seem to be anything Sears takes into consideration, and they will probably hire you. I wish I could talk positively about this company but it seems like the longer you work there, the more the negative aspects of Sears will start to outweigh the positive."

What don't you like about working at Sears?

"Where to begin. My number one complaint about working at Sears is DRAMA. There is a very high turnover rate at Sears and unfortunately the employees who are only staying at Sears for a few months and then quitting are the employees who can help Sears. Employees who have been working at Sears for a while (non-managers/leads) get Sweetheart schedules and they work their new employees to the bone. Not only do they require a ridiculous amount of work for minimum wage, but Sears does not even acknowledge the hard work by those doing their jobs, Sears does not discipline those that have been there for a long time that don't do their jobs, and Sears does not promote for the right reasons. Aside from work ethic (or lack thereof), employees who have been at Sears for a while act like they are in HS most of the time. They are not accepting to new employees and feel the need to speak rudely behind peoples' backs and to their faces if they are feeling extra superior that day. I would like to point out although my feelings of the employees are mostly negative, there are a few employees I have become good friends with and will remain friends with after I leave Sears."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"My suggestions for management are simple. Treat everyone fairly. Respect your coworkers (even if they hold a lesser position than you) if you want to be respected in return. Discipline the employees who break the rules, and compliment the employees who work hard and abide by the rules. Lastly, be mature and don't take part in the dramatics of other employees."
