4.4I am working in Scientific Games from Sep 2009. It provides gambling products and services to lottery and gambling organizations across the globe. The publicly traded company is headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada. Its products include computerized and mechanical slot machines, table games, iGaming and iLottery products, instant lottery games, lottery gaming systems, terminals and services, internet applications, server-based interactive gambling terminals, gambling control systems, social gaming, and sports betting. The company employs about 8,600 people globally and owns several notable subsidiaries including Bally Technologies and WMS Industries, as well as operating the UK sports-betting platform OpenBet.
2I saw a review while interviewing for this company that always stuck with me, and I wished I would have listened to it. The company seems great at first, good pay, nice co-workers, and nice updated equipment. However there's a very strong "boys club" atmosphere at Scientific Games, and if you're not part of the "club", well good luck to you! I started out in the club and as I grew more and more outspoken I noticed attitudes towards me were changing. Out of nowhere I started getting written up for trivial things such as being ONE MINUTE LATE to a salaried position, as well as a few other things that I was singled out on. This company, my supervisor and HR rep ruined my life for 6-9 months. It affected my mental and physical help, which was made fun of by my supervisor on several occasions and nothing was done to stop it.
2.6A seemingly good company from the outside, but things changed very quickly once I was hired. They preach the “family” mentality, however, there’s way too much favoritism within the company. Some people want to see young, talented team members grow, but there are still way too many older males in leadership positions with “boys club” thinking. Depending on the role you’re in, it’s difficult to be a young and talented female.
