"I was an Earthquake Information Technology intern at the Southern California Earthquake Center in 2017 and selected as the leader of the Probability & Forecasting team. Working together as a team, we studied the statistics of large earthquakes by changing the parameters of physic-based catalogs and analyzing the recurrence interval and conditional probabilities of large subsequent earthquakes using Java. Within eight weeks, we provided great depth in earthquake analysis and discovered an unusual behavior at larger magnitude earthquake events. Beside learning how to prioritize tasks to ensure all assigned projects were completed in a timely manner, this role had provided me an opportunity to collect, analyze and report our findings on 2017 SCEC annual meeting in Palm Spring, CA."
"Southern California Earthquake Center is a very great place to work. It is a non-profit organization and all the staff is very friendly and really helpful. All the employees I have come across so far are very amicable and have always been ready to help. There is coffee and the fridge is well-stocked with soda so that makes sitting and working very comfortable!"
