"I was not a medical researcher but a supporting technical role. The management was one of those ridiculous funnel shaped hierarchies where I had half a dozen bosses. The place was just an arena for funding politics and turf wars. Eventually one of my bosses took a special interest in getting me fired as part of a feud with another boss. All of my meetings with her (Dorit Hanein) had to be made in the presence of HR because of her past bad behavior towards employees having nothing to do with me. I will say that the HR people were as professional and helpful as possible given that it was obvious that this person was insane. My main task was to take care of some technical equipment. I asked for a key to the room where that equipment lived and was told, oh you can't go in there, it's off limits. I never did get a key to actually do my job. An insane place where the fundamental problem is that there is a corporate mentality mixed awkwardly with an academic mentality. Are the administrators the bosses? Or the scientists? No one knew, but they fought about it a lot!"
