"Though you're not required to be in the army you will always be an outsider if you're not."

"I do not like culture of who's in the club and who's out."

"Listen to program directors. Run the building like a community center instead of a church."

"I don't know. You have to let me work before I can answer this question."

"Management should understand the work requirements, time needed to complete a single task. So that, employee won't be given more tasks than he can handle."

"I love non-profit work, and I believed, falsely, that this was a Christian outfit one can trust to provide, fairness, balance, career growth and success, and do it in the name of Christ. That is not true."

"If you are hired, do everything by the book...and I guarantee you will still be let go if they don't like you. These people have lost their way in the last hundred years. I do not recommend them at all."

What don't you like about working at The Salvation Army?

"While they want your donations, and while most salaries are low, the perks that the uniformed leaders get are unbelievable. Someone should be throwing an 'occupy' group at them and demand to see where the money goes. They are number one in the world for receiving charitable gifts, but really, who is beneffitting Some Congressional group needs to ask them to open their books, and ask why they feel they have the right to terrorize employees."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Throw away your uniforms. You are supposed to represent Christ Jesus, but instead you are full of self-centeredness and lack of feeling toward the poor, the disenfranchised and many employees."

"Making a difference in men's lives for the glory of God."

"Non Profit Organizations are not easy to work for. There are a lot of politics in an old organization."

What don't you like about working at The Salvation Army?

"Old building and a lot of sick people, continually battling cold/flu viruses."

"I don't have suggestions, only that they continue to do the Lord's work as He directs the leaders."

"We helped people temporarily. Often we were viewed as a last resort but we had favorites."

"Don't expect to change the culture and remember you are an at will employee so be prepared to leave and beat them to the punch."

"Failed in any way to solve long term problems people face."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get out of the office, ring the Bells like you expect everyone else to. One hour in front of camera's doesn't cut it. Follow up with thank you calls!!!!"
