Rome Catholic School Employee

"First if all i would like the reader to know that this review was not easy for me to write as I feel very conflicted as this is a Catholic School, however if my review would be helpful in any way to someone as sensitive as i am then i am grateful to have it know. You would think that the people in charge and/or who work there would be the opposite if what I’m about to say. I feel as though I was treated unfairly due to my political beliefs. I had expressed my concerns over the fact that they mandated masks on children under the age of 5 YEARS OLD!!!!! Even though this issue shouldn't have any bearing on my political beliefs I feel as though I was looked at differently from that point on. It was made clear to me that most of the staff could care less about the health and quality of education to the kindergarten and pre-k students and it was irrelevant compared to the protection of its staff/faculty’s health. Even though the majority were young and healthy people. They talked excessively about the parents and in most cases would make fun of them or complain about them. Especially in the mornings while congregated in front of the doors while waiting to greet the students. Whenever I would express concern over the fact that children that young, who are themselves learning to speak, couldn’t see our mouths or facial expressions even though we were trying to teach them proper pronunciations of certain words, I would be silenced or ignored. Instead, the proper way to wear a mask was more important. These teachers and staff were nothing more than a bunch of mask police bullying your 5-3 year olds into pulling up their masks around their noses and to go sanitize their hands! Now i understand the need to eliminate germs and to be sanitary but not at the expense of providing a quality education or in this case “introduction” to school. Since expressing all of these concerns and making my opinion known, i was treated like an outsider and was asked not to come back next year."
