"Rockwell Automation was a wonderful place to work. They are always willing to help and make your experience better in any way possible. Though they might seem a bit old school at times, it does have its own advantages."

"Old Boys style company. Need to work a lot of years to get anywhere. Bad compensation structure. Supervisors maintain a huge buffer with employees."

"I have worked at Rockwell Automation since fall of 2011. The work itself is not bad, but there seems to an ever growing disconnect between management and the work force. I personally feel like the management is there to just manage. I guess I feel like management should be there to lead. It becomes very frustrating when management only shows up when there seems to be something wrong and they are yelling at us."

"Great experiences, but be ready to 'self-launch' in case the layoffs happen..."

What do you like about working at Rockwell Automation?

"The people were the 'best part' about working at Rockwell. There was professionalism and a striving to compete and provide quality products, while due considerations were given to performance and product."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be ready to work the 60-70 hour work weeks. Pay extreme attention to your image and be strictly business-like in all that you do.If you're not slim, trim and figure fit take out a membership at a health club, these guys and gals compete with gusto!"

What don't you like about working at Rockwell Automation?

"After a 'good performance review' and 'being told' to 'stick around' as others were leaving in a massive layoff arrangement we had 9-11. The week following with 15 minutes notice and security at your desk, 785 people were released from the building I was working in. Families aside, medical and other aside, it is a reality that I've seen a few others go through since I was there."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"My manager was an excellent manager, but I'm not sure management anywhere would put their prejudicial preferences aside when working with People. I've seen too many highly skilled workers suffer for lack of personal and private matters that were none of the companies business, yet things happen. I typically judge management by it's capable skills with the 3 P's, people, paper and politeness. Typically, these managers, while being highly stressed and forced to live the 'global life' had the 3P's down to a T. From my own scale, they would rank as great to fantastic!!"
