Depending on your department moving up is difficult, where, most individuals work in Operations for a year and then jump to development the moment they can."

"Great people, commitment to quality. People really try to do the right thing."

"Openness/honesty is crucial. Acknowledging limitations. Many people from different backgrounds involved in the interview, so there is no boilerplate advice."

What don't you like about working at Roche?

"Programmer/Analysts have no career path. All of this work is ultimately outsourced. Programmers end up in IT support roles. Cost cutting leads to higher and higher expectations without comensurate compensation and flexibility about working arrangements. Also there are so many reorgs that you end up having no long term working relationships (1 reorg a year, different manager a year in my experience)"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Provide more flexible working options, especially for people who are interacting with offshore teams."

"I love working in the healthcare field as you feel like you improve patients lives with your work."

"Demonstrate your love for improving patients lives through you work."

What don't you like about working at Roche?

"Very little with the exception of the capped corporate bonus."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"They should pay bonuses on individual and team based MBO's."
