"In this case the company is downsizing. It's been a great company to work for. If they have opening in any of their remaining lines of businesses I'd say it's a a great place to pursue."

"I think management could have done a better job communication with the troops about the downsize."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Step up the communication with the employees. When a problem arrises listen to the people that actually do the work for their opinions and ideas."

"Company is great but it is .NET driven. I have SQL, SSRS, SSMS, SSIS skills. I feel like I dont fit in."

"I don't have any. Company prefers to develop in .NET. Reports are preferred to be done by executives in Excel."

"It's very fast paced there so be ready to stay on your toes."

"At first they were a little behind in the Technology but everything changed after I stared working for the company."

"It's stressful most of the time for management, try to find more ways to help ease the stress and new ideas to lighten the workload."

"It has a lot of potential, but the banking side of the business is brand new to the Insurance Co."

"I enjoyed the people that I worked with. Five years ago it was a small family owned business with great vision. Unfortunately the mortgage situation hit them hard and it was never able to recover"
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"No tips. Just recognize the line of business that you are getting into at this point in the economy. It will be a bumpy road for awhile still."
What don't you like about working at Mutual of Omaha?
"In the last year when Mutual of Omaha took over everything was up in the air. It's a big corporation with over 100 years of history taking over a small business in a new arena for them. It wouldn't be fair of me to say what I don't like. I hadn't a chance to really work for the company once everything has settled."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"My manager was in desparate need of training. He had no idea how to motivate people or understand what it took to motivate his team to realize the bigger picture. I think the company as a whole is recognizing the deficencies in those management areas."
