"I've worked for Adesa Los Angeles since 2018. I have enjoyed a majority of my time here at the company. There is a strong relationship between the departments and the managers, and good communication throughout the auction. This company provides a moderate amount of opportunity to move around within the company, but I have found that to promote within the company, there is not a lot of opportunity provided. This company keeps a schedule consistent with what they tell you when you are hired, and offers great benefits such as 401k matching, employee stock programs, and medical benefits."

What do you like about working at ADESA?

"Dealing with car dealers as clients was appealing and a business which I was familar with."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Find out up front who ALL you will be reporting to and request to talk with person prior to accepting an offer. The one person I did not talk to up front is the one person that I would have never worked for."

What don't you like about working at ADESA?

"I did not like dealing with corporate office management personnel. The Regional Mgr was cut throat and had little concern for the employees, only to cut jobs and salaries so that his bonus could be adjusted to a lower amount and not take a cut in pay."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get rid of the Regional Manager. And do not hire people from the retail car business. Just as I would suggest that Retail car dealers not hire people from the manufacturer.....neither understand the business"

"I liked the people, the environment, the fast pace and the extra work outside of IT that I got to do."

"I really don't, as long as they know a little about cars and auctions they will be fine."

What don't you like about working at ADESA?

"The auction was acquired by a corporation so IT became centralized. My responsibilities became less than I was used to."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I have no complaints about management, my boss and I talk once in a while still."

"Interfacing daily with people and the excitement of the auction day."

"Be willing to put in long hours and work under time demands and with little resources at your disposal."

What don't you like about working at ADESA?

"There are limited growth opportunites and the infrastructure (technology-wise) was severly lacking"

"I would advise management to invest in information technology even more. The organization continues to lag others in the industry."
