Remote Coder at Lexicode
in Ballentine, SC

What do you like about working at Lexicode?

"The afforded opportunities are virtually endless in this rapidly growing field. Once you get the hang of encoding your production quota's are easily obtained and your by record (based on a particular hospital and contract agreement with LexiCode) can easily net you extra money daily/weekly. With their stellar reputation on th line, you are not afforded the opprtunity to become a traveling consultant or working from home employee until they deem you ready. Progression is experience, knowledge, production and accuracy based so you are in absolute control of your advancement and progression within the company. Benefits are excellent and pay is well within the general scope of the field with evaluations based on your contributions in whole, a ready path for wage increases (again, note: YOU control your OWN destiny here). Positions are available to experienced, semi-experienced and new Health Care Graduates (all levels) with an in house training program available to hone your skills to make you the BEST. They get you clients and you are responsible to and for those client medical facilities (Yet again: YOU determine your own marketability by your productivity, accuracy, knowledge and incentive). Where you go and how fast you get there within the comapany is, finally, UP TO YOU!"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be positive and honest about your long range goals as well as what you hope to achieve; remember any company I also looking for what you can contribute to them. The BIGGEST item is that if you don't have STRONG WORK ETHICS and STUDY ETHICS, this is NOT your place to apply. Be prepared for frustration and feelings of being over whelmed if hired, in the initial stage. Don't get into a negative mode, remember many came before you and faced the same mountain and climbed it. It is well worth all you go through and as you catch on and things come easier your feelings of accomplishment and self pride and esteem will escalate."

What don't you like about working at Lexicode?

"I have to agree with a previous comment that the in house training could be 2 weeks longer and encoders used for hands on experience. The only other negative (based on whom you are assigned to) is a lack of at times, professional and helpful communicative skills."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Increase in place training for all levels and do not let anyone graduate until they have fully grasped the basics to minimize frustration when faced with real records. I would also provide a month of hourly pay to new employees who are first timers versus 2 weeks and give them a personal trainer to assist them (one who is actually available and willing to help)"
