"I didn't have any reason to not like working there. It was a very professional place to work at."

"Keep doing what you're doing, you're doing something right."

What do you like about working at Slakey Brothers?
"I enjoyed working with one of the senior VP's, who really took an interest in my development and building my department. This looked like an excellent spot to move forward in my career, until the reorganization."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Top-notch sales staff that really knows their stuff, backed up by good product knowledge and excellent support personnel. This company takes pretty good care of their customers and remaining employees, but stay out of Finance and IT. Those two departments are poorly managed, with IT in particular overwhelmed and ineffective."
What don't you like about working at Slakey Brothers?
"After the reorganization, the senior finance person I now reported to took little interest in my professional judgment or development, and took over my position two months later. This individual proceeded to tear down the department, and wound up losing the income from a number of credit customers through inattention and failure to manage the relationship."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Most were fine, but the senior finance person was threatened by competence in their direct reports, poorly organized, and unable to manage projects to completion."

"There was a strong potential for job growth and career advancement. I was promoted twice in 5 years."

"They have a very extensive process, be prepared for a long interview phase."
What don't you like about working at Ingram Micro?
"It was a very large company and mostly impersonal when relating to employees."

"Try to impart a feeling of small company into the large company setting."

"Orco is now out of business. My answers were in the past tense. Excellent interview."
What do you like about working at T.G.I Friday's?
"Orco appreciated it's credit people and treated us very well."
What don't you like about working at T.G.I Friday's?
"Orco was too specialized in the residential construction supply business. When that industry declined, Orco could not find other sources of revenue."
