"Lack of people management skills driven by the top executives who are the only ones who get stock options."
"Glad I'm out. RadioShack was the worst job I have ever had. Horrible and downright illegal work ethic."
What do you like about working at RadioShack?
"I like electronics. There are plenty of opportunities, because there is always someone getting fired up top. Often it is very slow and boring."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"If you have nowhere else to go, then sure, you have no choice. But, I would heed the warnings from everyone, and do not consider RadioShack. For DMs, this is a 6-day mandatory with Sunday strongly recommended work schedule, every week, every month. Don't let the recruiters lie to you because they are known in the company for doing so."
What don't you like about working at RadioShack?
"They make you lie to customers to sell them wireless phones, which is very unethical. Read the other reviews where the same is repeated over and over. Pay is horrible."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Recognize that people have lives, yes, even district managers. The way you treat and what you expect from people are unethical on every level."
"A sales position for an engineer. It's never a fool who opens his mouth first."
What do you like about working at RadioShack?
"Scheduling was flexible, and the people I worked with at RadioShack were intelligent, driven, professional, and passionate about their work."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"It is both possible and plausible to be happy and successful with RadioShack. However, currently, many of the sales techniques border upon unethical. I would urge you to build a strong rapport with your local customers and be that trusted specialist who knows how to help them out."
What don't you like about working at RadioShack?
"Corporately, there was a large amount of pressure to meet specific sales targets, and the means that floor people were demanded of were often unethical, or bordered on outright lying."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"The corporation should reevaluate its focus on confusing pitches for high-margin electronics, and reorganize around what was classically a household name in trusted customer service. The image cannot be a superficial one."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"RadioShack is a great place to start a technology sales career, but you need to get out of the box."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Allow managers to hire enough employees so they don't have to work over 80 hours."
