QA Chemist at Georgia-Pacific
in Port Wentworth, GA

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"It was a great job for me, but the job was eliminated."

What do you like about working at Georgia-Pacific?

"The job was interesting, because the work was always different from day to day. You learn a lot about making resins and basic chemistry. You get to work on different projects. The people were great to work with, especially the chemist in the R&D department. The challenges were always there and exciting to work through. The job had a lot of responsibilities form the everyday task to big projects."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Ask a lot of questions on the business. How it is going. What the growth factor is. Is GP/Koch going to close any more plants? Ask for a lot on money since raises were always less than 3% when they came."

What don't you like about working at Georgia-Pacific?

"That GP sold out to Koch Industries and the entire work environment changed. New policies and management changes that affected the smooth way of doing things that GP had established. The biggest thing Koch did was to close plants and eliminate jobs. Several plants in the chemical division and other divisions were closed."
