"I've worked for Prudential for slightly over 1 year and while I admire my supervisor and team, the overall management of the larger unit is poor at best."

"I worked there for many years. The most interesting thing to note, which no one talks about, is how frequently some of the leaders have shuffled between jobs with no significant accomplishments to show in any of the businesses they are shuffled from. There has been no cohesive strategy since Mark Grier and John Strangfeld left the company and they are left with financial engineers and non-insurance people to lead ( and destroy) the historical franchises for pipe dreams around higher stock valuations. Several of these "leaders" only care about their own careers and as a result fail the definition of leadership."

"In my time at Prudential I found the company to be very limited in growth opportunities. There was no clear direction or expectations outlined, which made it difficult to perform at an acceptable level. I don't feel these issues were necessarily systemic so much as a managerial problem."

"They don't use industry standards and are not oriented to create business value. A job that could be done in a week with the right tools takes months there. There are many junior people without any experience and a bunch of scrum musters, for a small number of tasks. Some of the tasks set incorrectly, others are not actionable. The manager stack in the last century. I'm talking about a particular group. I strongly believe the other departments have much better management."

"Ask a lot of questions about job responsibilities because descriptions can be rather vague."

What don't you like about working at Prudential?

"Forecasting for various consumer groups is slow and short sighted."

"Allow for more employee opportunity in other areas; especially for associates who have worked in other industries and have considerable experience."

"Stability for now, work life balance, pay grade, flexible hours."

"Generally a good company to work for. If you're able to roll with the politics at times, you can go far."

What don't you like about working at Prudential?

"Being micromanaged, politics control too much. Not forward thinking enough, newer technology takes too long to be embraced."

"Consider your employees and make them happy. Happy employees are productive employees."
