"Know what the expectations from the owners are very clearly. Ask plenty of questions and make sure if you are in a supervisory or management role that you are given the opportunity and support needed to make the decisions that impact the success fo the project."

"More field involvement and follow up from the client to the field personell to ensure clear understanding."

"Make sure middle management isn't clouding the issues in the field."

"nobody listens to you when yoiu speak to them and they are always smarter then you are."

"no words and to much buddy buddy going on throughout the company.."

"The vice president and the general superintendent gave me full controll of the job and did not micro manage me because they knew that the job was running smothly they would come by and check up on me and we would have meetings on things that where coming up to install"

"In construction we have to preform interviewing is just the first part."
What don't you like about working at Brookfield Homes?
"A couple of the subcontractors where not preforming at all very frustrating but I had to finish the job with them."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I you pick better subcontractors with proven track recordes it makes our job easyer and we can get the job done faster and with the best of quality you spend a little more up front but you save money in the long run lest customer service costs, better quality and quicker closings. You will save money on the principle of the loans that have to be taken out for the job site."

"Know that this company values a team approach and industry knowledge experience."
What don't you like about working at VCC Construction?
"For new employees there was a sink or swim mentality so if you didn't catch on quickly you couldn't survive in this face paced environment."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Make it manditory that new employees be teamed up with someone who can mentor them through the process. Too many Project Engineers were left on an island without the proper training."

"The Project Manager was very good at providing everything when needed."

"Good company. Better know what your doing because the owners are very knowledgeable."
What don't you like about working at Miller-Stauch Construction?
"Self Performing Crew wasn't very good and only had one or two qualified individuals that did quality work. Paper work required was never reviewed; no accountablilty structure."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"If you require an extensive amount of paperwork to fill out to monitoring quality, at least ask to look at it to make sure it's being done. Accountability is critical in our industry."

"It was my first big supervsion job so it was great."

"The company had some negative press with a project they did."

"None, it was a well organized company who rewarded it's employees."

"I love the work. Completing projects and customer satisfaction. I get great satisfaction doing this work."

"Be honest....but make sure that the company stays honest with you. Get everything in writing ."

"They had problems with making payroll and subcontractor payments at times."

"Focus on teamwork. Build the client relantionship with a team and stay with that team in doing all work for them."
