Skillset: Project leaders must utilize a wide variety of skills and require outstanding management, supervisory, and leadership skills. They must be able to multitask and work under the pressure of deadlines. To handle budget issues and scheduling, they must have excellent computer and math abilities.
Education: Most project leaders have a degree in a business administrative related field. Project management industry certifications from places such as the International Association of Project & Program Management, may also be very helpful in securing a position as a project leader.
Career Path: The project leader must be able to demonstrate exemplary management and leadership abilities. Pursue a bachelor’s degree in a business related field and consider a master’s degree to increase desirability. Industry certifications will also help build up a resume and lead to more opportunities.
