"Progress was a great company; got to work on many project for the Power Generation teams. Projects were challenging and fun."

"I have not worked in the new Duke environment and under my new management long enough for a valid answer here. My suggestion would be to be more focused on project management then actual project development."
What don't you like about working at Progress Energy?
"Progress has been purchased by Duke Energy and the Raleigh and the corporate culture does not seem to moving in a direction for me. I am wanting a more challenging development and innovation based project structure."

"Duke Energy's new management is less focused on developing innovative technologies and more interested in vendor solutions and contract development."

"I enjoy working with the plant equipment. I enjoy troubleshooting problems and completing testing."

"Ensure that you understand the training process. As an operator, the program is set up to fully qualify you in two years. That is a long time in comparison to other companies in the nuclear industry."
What don't you like about working at Progress Energy?
"The company is currently in a merger which seems to be more like a take over. The leadership at the company has not been very open with the employees and it influences the workers morale."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I believe that benchmarking other companies would help keep the company at the top of the industry."

"Stress level is low although its because we have too many expectations to be able to get any work done."

"I hope you consider location a compensation for lack of pay."

"Cheap, all about the dividend, no care for the workers well being."

"Actually implement workers ideas to make work more efficient. Fleet alignment may be nice for upper management to ensure we all do things the same but completely ties our hands from doing things more effectively at each location."

"When they plan, start and execute programs, they need to stick with them vs. killing them off 75% of the time. Too much time, staff and energy is wasted."
