"I like helping customers improve their energy efficiency and become more eco-friendly. I like using my skills to manage multiple projects and build enterprise architectures to support energy efficiency."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Know you're coming into a company that is struggling to re-identify itself to its customers as a dynamic leader in building efficiency and green energy. You will need all your negotiation and influence skills to overcome the stovepipes and closed management styles."

What don't you like about working at Johnson Controls?

"JCI claims to be innovative and flexible, but it is neither. The company is very stovepiped and hard to collaborate within. It is also not viewed by its customers as flexible and easy to work with."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Learn to really communicate, instead of using information to control others. Flatten the management structure by 50% to become more responsive to both customers and co-workers."
