"The customers are my greatest enjoyment with SMI. I thrive on taking a difficult problem, analyzing the problem, developing a root cause and implementing a solution. My success is verifiable by the letters and emails sent to upper management describing their satisfaction."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"My tip would be not to embellish situations as the company is going through tremendous growth and change. Embellishing facts and situations detract blurs focus of what is truly important, the customers."
What don't you like about working at Specialty Manufacturing?
"Being located in Charlotte North Carolina, this puts a financial burden on my income that distracts my loyalty."

"The new CEO has the vision of what needs to happen to grow SMI."

"The cultural differences are there and it may affect you more then you would expect. Being yourself might be the best polisy , most of the people either stay with the company for a very long time or figure out that it is not for them in the first year."

"Insentives and recognition for the job well done , lack of direct communication to the parent company"

"Focus on the peole and give credit where it belongs , commonicate clearly and set up expectations in a timely manner. Encourage creative thinking."

"read-up on the industry to see the science trends"
What don't you like about working at Novellus Systems?
"Too negative. No real positive support for people. Continuously reducing people and increasing per capita work load in increased travel requirements."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Rebuild the business plan to incorporate buy-in on lower levels. DOn't always think you have the best plan.... as Novellus was built from a <20 person start-up as an awesome company, some of the BEST ideas are from the people you never see or even know about."
