I love drawing up the schema and connecting all the dots then turning that into a tactile product.I hate documentation because, while necessary, the process is tedious and subject to constant revision. In fact good documentation takes more time than the programming. I also hate how the uninitiated look at IT as if it grew on trees. To me, a good application is like the Mona Lisa or any great work of art. It's new, it's a portrait of the business, it's original. That is me all the way, Mr. Originality."

"If you're looking for an analytics position but don't experience with applying analytics in the business world, then try to read up on it. One possible text is Credit Scoring and Its Applications by Thomas, et al."

"Company made decision to promote use of internally developed analytic modeling software which is not competitive with best products in the market"

"Find a better way than laying off top performers to control costs"

"While I was here, I had an opportunity to work in areas (eg: SAP) I hadn't in the past."

"The drive! I lose a waking day of my life every week just in road-time. Add to that a current cost of $2.70/g for gas, and there is a real and tangible monetary cost to working this far away. There are politics, but that's par for the course at most companies - although I will submit that DTE has more politics that even Ford Motor..."
