"Good for developing one's skill. However in the long run employees do not feel satisfied. Company has bad history of laying off key people. Stress level is above average."
"Not a bad employer, although the medical and retirement could be better. They could also do a better job of promoting from within, in the end the company would be more profitable if they made better use of the years of experience and talent rather than keep hiring people with only two things, a pulse and a college degree. There is no school for investment casting, someday someone will realize this and see that profit looks better on a stock profile than average education level."
"No work life balance. Antiquated IT systems and no training in the use of those systems. Major issues with key manager turnover. Dirty, hazardous place to work. Insufficient resources to do the job."
"Left before they destroyed my health."
What do you like about working at Precision Castparts?
"The people below management level were great."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Be aware that they WILL expect you to work a LOT of unpaid overtime on salary."
What don't you like about working at Precision Castparts?
"No opportunity for advancement. Salary to them means LOTS of unpaid overtime. Expected to be available 24x7x365-even on vacation. Management had unreal expectations and would not listen to people who understood the issues. Raises were only minimal and reviews were tailored to reflect what a supervisor could offer, not the real results of your effort."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Quit using the PM position as a training ground!!! Listen to and meet with regular people who have a clue."
