What don't you like about working at Precision Castparts?

"The new boss that was brought in by the corporate office was from Canada and had an abrasive personality that led to several of his staff quitting.Also the corporate office only cared aout the bottom line and not about employees."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Send the GM back to Canada and put in somebody who believes in teamwork rather than a dictatorship"

"I have had the opportunity to move up through the ranks to get to the position I am in. Promotes from within. Good stock plan and 401 K Match along with pension."

"Make sure you focus on being totally bottom line driven and accept less salary due to an excellent bonus system, 401K match and pension as well as benefits."

What don't you like about working at Precision Castparts?

"Never a sense of job security, lots of layoffs lack of discipline regarding Quality. Quality is always talked about but is always the first hit by cutbacks and layoffs and many times I feel Quality is just lip service and not taken as seriously as it should be."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Take better care of the good people with experience that you do employ and make Quality job one. Also, pronote more from within instead of always bringing in incompetent people from the Auto Industry or Union Shops that do not understand a big organization can be run union free if you take care of your people. High turnover rate as many people are always looking to leave or leaving."

"At first it seemed to be the perfect place to work but it went for the worst after a few months"

"Be Careful, though place to work. You take the job you'll know what I'm talking about."

"Management did not appreciate hard work. I put in an average of 70 hours per week on salary working Saturday Sundays and sometimes nights and never even an ata boy. Ruthless, all you are is a number."

"I would suggest they take a look at how they like to be treated and try to treat there people the same. Would not return to work there for no amount of money. I feel bad for those who still put up with it."

"Be aware that they WILL expect you to work a LOT of unpaid overtime on salary."

"No opportunity for advancement. Salary to them means LOTS of unpaid overtime. Expected to be available 24x7x365-even on vacation. Management had unreal expectations and would not listen to people who understood the issues. Raises were only minimal and reviews were tailored to reflect what a supervisor could offer, not the real results of your effort."

"Quit using the PM position as a training ground!!! Listen to and meet with regular people who have a clue."

"Management need understand technology/business, instead of just MBA for promotion. They need hire high level engineers who have deep academic knowledge of process for process innovation, instead of hiring political alliance."
