"Because the company has great difficulty gaining and retaining employees, getting in is easy as long as you dont put yourself on a pedestal. (Putting yourself on a pedestal is their little code phrase for wanting a decent salary.)"

"Stay away from this company unless you have nowhere else to go. It could kill your career."

What don't you like about working at Polco Metal Finishing?

"1) Its plant manager is actually nothing more than a working supervisor. That is his level of competence. He works hard and gets down and dirty but has no analytical ability or organizational skills. He cant see the sense of the simplest solutions to the problems he always complains about.2) The company operates on a shoestring budget. It even considers paper and ink cartridges as major expenses. That is probably the only reason it is able to stay in business.3) The company is crooked. It cheats its employees, customers, and suppliers.4) Its HR manager is actually nothing more than an administrative assistant. That is her level of competence.5) The company employs mostly illegal aliens and convicted criminals on its floor."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Spend a little more money to hire a competent operations manager and force the plant manager to do everything he tells him to do."

"It's not a place to work unless you can't work any place else."

"the autonomy. Because of the type of business you're forced to do a bit of everything."

"Don't do it unless you really need the money."

"no security, senior management isn't forth right and honest."

"get a new operations/plant manager that has a vision, can think out of the box and can use the automation to it's potential. Stop hiring illegal immigrants."
