"In the light of having worked at Ply Gem for years I have never worked for a company that is now a dictatorship with its workers. Having a safe work place should always be first priority for any company. Ply Gem in Rocky Mount has taking control over its workers to a new level. Radios have been returned to workers but as Hitler enforced, only certain stations on certain days can be listened too. Having to work 12 hour days 7 days a week I will not be told what I can and cannot listen too. This is only one of the problems that will be sent through letters to newspapers, distributors, the show Home Free and anyone else who will listen. As rep. of a large group of workers in Rocky Mt. this is only the start of things to come until fairness is seen throughout the plant. We would rather not have radios than be dictated to."
"I have worked for Ply Gem coming up on 5 years. It is a very large company and has very good benefits. The people are great, but there is a terrible management and internal systems problem. I have met or exceeded all of my sales goals over the past few years, but that is in spite of the ability that Ply Gem has to respond to issues and put the proper people in or out of control of processes. The paperwork and computer systems are from the stone age."
