Pinellas County Schools is one of the thirty largest schools districts in the United States. Located in Pineallas County, it is also one of the ten biggest school districts in the state of Florida. The school previously sat in Hillsboroug County, but when the county split into two districts in the 1910s, Pineallas responded by building schools in the new county.

The school district consists of 17 high schools, 22 middle schools and 76 elementary schools. The district is also home to six alternative schools, nine adult education and career technology schools and 14 charter schools. The district headquarters are in Largo, Florida, which is one of the biggest cities in the district and adjacent to Tampa Bay.
