"Perceptive software aggressively buys acquisition companies in order to raise profitability. However, more people does not equal more net profit. They typically acquire the cream of the crop talent in those companies, plus technologies and existing customers, and then a year or so later there are lay offs when they have a bad financial quarter. My impression after working there is that they're unstable. And although positions are eliminated regularly, they have no qualms with hiring college interns and co-ops. I only worry how long-term their positions will ultimately be."
