"The engineers, support people, and other low-level employees were talented and cool. The company provided a ton of free junk food for everyone."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Ask why this position is open. Ask how many rounds of layoffs and how many rounds of investor funding this company has gone through. Ask yourself if you want to relocate to Orlando, where there are very few tech companies to switch to if you leave this job."
What don't you like about working at Pentaho Corp.?
"Middle management is entirely incompetent. Even much of the upper management have no idea what they are doing. There is a whole-company pivot at least three times per year."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Streamline management so that the great talent can think independently and work creatively. Eliminate anyone who isn't doing real work. Limit the number of meetings that can be called by any person per week."

"Laid back culture. Room for advancement. Ability to Increase skillset. People. Perks. Pay."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Know databases, Linux, SQL, Server technologies, and business intelligence. Don't lie or exaggerate your skill set because they'll see through it."
What don't you like about working at Pentaho Corp.?
"There is a lack of employee training. Troubleshooting our product is challenging so it requires a broad range of technical abilities."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Focus more on employee training and better documentation for our product."
"I worked for Pentaho for year and a half since February 2012, I covered 110% of quota in 2012 and reached a full quota by the middle of the year in 2013 (a 26% growth). Market development would bring more revenue if Pentaho would consider a different priority for partners. Having a better understanding of the culture an operation in LATAM would have facilitated the operation and the deals between end customers and partners."
