"I was only hired as an artist to create some images for the local site, as Patch.com hosts websites for towns across the states. They paid me per image I made for them through Paypal, It wasn't a long term job, more like freelance."
"I've worked for Patch.com since April. I've found it to have a great concept but with all the lay offs not a lot of backing from its mother company AOL. The company had 900 sites across the country and employed around 1000 people. But now with the lay offs and cut backs now has about 400 sites and employs 500 people."

"I don't like anything about it currently. The boss is a bully."

"If you want to do journalism or are interested in writing for a living, go interview somewhere else."

"The isolation creates a paranoid atmosphere which is perfect for abusive managers."

"Not throw tantrums, not insult and threaten people constantly, not set people up to fail and blame them for it."

"Be ready for about nine interviews, and to tell each interviewer the same thing over and over. They have trouble making a decision."
