"I love the work I do, however, I am not looking to further my career in education, and, therefore, do not with to pursue such endeavors. Also, the work is only part-time, and does not provide an acceptable salary."
"I love being a para-educator because I get to personally effect and change the lives of students living with special needs and disabilities. The job can burn you out easily, but at the end of the day you feel fulfilled and want to do your best. Its only real drawback is that the compensation isn't that great. Also there are no real health benefits to speak of."

What do you like about working at Hawthorne Country Day School?
"Working at Hawthorne is a great experience. It's a small school with caring experienced teachers who really work together."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"It's an emotionally demanding job but they do a great job preparing you with training and all the other teachers in your room are very hands-on and helpful. It's a great place to work."
What don't you like about working at Hawthorne Country Day School?
"There's nothing not to like about this company at this time."
What do you like about working at Erskine Elementary School?
"The educators do work very hard and try ot impress upon others the need to be a good character and morally sound. Integrity was always practiced. I like working with people like this."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"A 14 hour day was usually the average but the pay with a masters degree is $75.00 oer day."
What don't you like about working at Erskine Elementary School?
"I traveled each day to work with some of the best people. Yet, I spent a paycheck a month on the classroom and gas."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Increase the pay and benefits for quality employees. Offer resources to those who have their own classrooms without expecting them to purcahse resources to teach and motivate the children."
What do you like about working at Baltimore City Public Schools?
"The thing a like about working for a company is the feeling of working for and with a team. A team helps each other but also competes against each other for the best results for the team."

"Others need to be honest, be themselves, and give their best effort."
What don't you like about working at Baltimore City Public Schools?
"Sometimes when a person works for a company they can become just a number. If everyone becomes a number we lose what makes us human beings."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I suggest that management takes the time to find out how to get the best out of the employees. Every person is different and unique. A manger's job is to find out why."
What don't you like about working at Howard County Public School System?
"It is a good place to work, but my job is not related to my field of study."

"Learning how to work with children with autism and special needs to try to get them mainstreemed"

"Ask questions about who you would be working with and if planning on staying more then a year then what is the procedures for the next year."

"When the paraeducators were left alone with the children and the teacher took a break during group time, leaving us with not enough staff if something happened."

"Keep an open mind with a paraeducator comes to you with concerns"

"Dress to impress and be prepare."

"The hours are 3.5 or less and has no benefit to the part time worker."

"I like the environment of interacting with different people and helping them."

"Working with a diverse group of People as well as children. Being a mentor to those whom I were unaware of and being a positive role model for them."
