The Pampered Chef Employee

"Worked for Pampered Chef for two years. Beautiful office and work environment. Revolving door for middle and upper management. Systemic micromanagement. Compensation is usually below average for education and experience levels."

"1. There are still a lot of employees onsite in Addison that are loyal, engaged, and want to make things work. 2. Work-Life Balance really is possible at PC. 3. A comfortable physical work environment. Lots of open areas. Tons of empty floor space. Onsite gym for employees (for a fee). Food vendors, and vending machines. No shortage of parking spaces. 4. The PC brand still has a positive reputation as a whole. They make fun, high-quality products and have been doing so for over three decades. To potential future full-time employees who are to sit in Addison (or the new Chicago flex work space), do not get swayed by the overall "star rating" of this company. The highest ratings come from Independent Sales Consultants, who are not FT Employees. Instead, look at reviews from workers based at PC headquarters in Addison, IL. They will give you the most accurate picture of the state of the company and should guide your decision to work at PC. Take some time and do your research. I advise you to be smart about your decision if offered employment. And as other reviews have stated, I too believe that several solicited positive entries have been posted by HR staff. Be wary of any review that states there are no negatives to working at PC, or any company for that matter. Here are my impressions of PC and what is taking place at present: 1. An obvious effort to shuttle out experienced (older, more expensive) workers in lieu of an inexperienced (younger, and cheaper) work force. It seems funny considering the number of current job postings for Director, Manager, and Senior-level professionals. KPI’s are just one tool used to carry out this effort. Layoffs, terminations, reassignments have been a few of the others. 2. The size and productivity of the independent sales force is shrinking every day. These are the people that know the market best. They are experts on the products, and the customers. Take what is happening as a sign. They are leaving in bunches."

"This is used to be an excellent company to work with. Now, it's not since the owner changed. Not sure if the owner really knows what's going on within the company resources. Tried reporting them but I guess no one listens."
