PAM Transport is an over-the-road trucking company serving clients in the automotive, manufacturing, and retail industries. PAM typically transports automotive parts, heating and air conditioning units, and general commodities. The company’s clients include several companies on the Fortune 500 list.

PAM Transport was founded in April 1980 by Paul Allen Miestri. In 2002 and 2003, Forbes named it one of the 200 best small companies in America. Currently, the company operates over 2,500 trucks and 4,000 trailers in the United States, Ontario, Quebec, and Mexico. The company also operates a CDL training program for new drivers, helping over 14,000 new drivers begin their careers.

PAM Transportation careers are offered as driving and non-driving positions. The majority of employees work as drivers. Other positions include detention monitoring clerks, recruiters, managers, trailer inspectors, transportation analysts, shop technicians, administrative personnel, customer service providers, marketing specialists, and sales personnel.

Drivers are offered an extensive and generous PAM Transport benefits package. Each driver receives FUEL routing optimizers and the latest in satellite communications technology to ensure that each driver remains safe and can provide services in an efficient manner. Drivers earn competitive pay, ranging from $40,000 to $100,000 annually depending on experience and mileage. Each driver receives a 401(k) retirement plan, with the option to adjust contributions each month. Insurance plans include medical, dentist, life, prescription, disability, vision, cancer and ICU, and accident insurance.

Drivers are offered paid vacations based on years of service. Optional mileage-based per diems and bonuses tied to sign-on, safety, and driver referrals provide additional incentives for drivers. These incentives include clothing and jewelry awards and public recognition for excellence and achievement. New drivers are also provided with a comprehensive CDL training program that can allow new associates to begin driving in less than a month after beginning training.

Qualified individuals working at P.A.M. Transportation Services in office or shop positions can expect to receive a competitive benefits package as well. Heath, financial, and recreational benefits are offered to all qualified employees. In addition, reimbursement may be offered for any business-related travel expenses that are incurred.

The PAM Transport culture hinges around the company’s open door policy. The company states that their work environment is comfortable, friendly, and supportive. New drivers are paired with experienced drivers who serve as mentors. The company focuses on supporting the drivers in order to ensure that the drivers deliver the company’s services safely.
