Area Sales Manager

"One messed up company."

What do you like about working at Owens Corning?

"Top quality products to sell. Some internal employees are willing to help."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I would really think twice before signing on with this circus."

What don't you like about working at Owens Corning?

"As a field sales rep for this company, you have relativity little sales support with 100% of the responsibility to get it done. Internal sales support staff with regards to much needed pricing approvals is dysfunctional, which enables the competition to easily out maneuver you. Regional Management is inept when asking for help to address issues at corporate HQ due to a top down CYA laden culture. Corporate management unethically requires you to provide competitive prices from your customers, which puts you in an extremely awkward position."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Recognize that you're existing in a culture of denial. Look internally for areas that create choke points that are killing your sales, they will be easily found. You are losing some top level sales talent for the above reasons who will gladly sell against you one day. Grow a managerial spine, who is running your company, the competition, your customers, or you."
