Orange Coast College offers associate of art and science degrees as well as certificates of achievement in more than 130 professions and licensed trades. Its favorable location provides one of the largest public maritime programs in the nation. Because OCC is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, lower division classes are transferable to other colleges and universities.

OCC adopts the recommendations of The California Community Colleges Board of Governors minimum qualifications for faculty and administrators. Many teaching positions require a Master's degree, while others need a specific Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree. Benefits for full-time employees include complete medical; paid holidays, vacation and sick days; membership to fitness clubs and state employee retirement plans.
