Omni Hotels and Resorts Employee

"Omni Hotels and resorts when I first started was probably one of the best brands I've worked for. They offered me an opportunity to excel in hospitality and to advance my current skill set. But things have got a little bumpy just in all the changes in management and leadership is somewhat overwhelming. But if you go in with a strong mind and you have goals you will be fine."

"I have worked for OMNI Hotels since 2017. My dept work team did an awesome job in bringing me up to speed on my role as an engineer for OMNI. My employer, managers, and co-workers was very flexible and supportive when my wife experienced needed emergency medical treatment. Our work culture was to make our guests feel like they were heads of state thru out their stay at our hotel. We wanted to deliver the best lodging care found in the world to every guest. Every 6 months we have a dept wide appreciate dinner and monthly we have an employer appreciation award. This challenges us all to excel even further in our expertise and role as a OMNI FAMILY TEAM MEMBER."

"I've worked for the Omni Hotels & Resosrts for almost 5 years in a customer facing role. My immediate supervisors have always been leaders in the workplace instead of the typical boss barking orders. I cannot say the same about their superiors, however."

"My manager is extremely thoughtful, knowledgeable and compassionate and does her absolute best to take care of her employees, unfortunately the property was not entirely ready to be opened the company decided to start selling anyway despite the lack of training and structure. I would recommend this company to someone looking for a job that is used to working very independently."

"The Omni Hilton Head Ocean Front is a privately owned hotel. There is a lot to learn. This job is fast paced with daily review of current events and knowing the island. The additional responsibilities are numerous. The guest demand a high level of service that is not learned overnight. The people that you report to as a 1st line manager are great. All the decisions come from the top. The people that hire you are always a threat to the security of your job. If you are not a favorite and go out and socialize with the in crowd... you will not get a break. There are many companies that you can work for that will appreciate you and not play games with your livelihood."

"Working for Omni was a great opportunity. I enjoyed the people, atmosphere and management that I worked with. My only negative is the compensation that the Banquet Houseman receive for the amount of work they do. Anything from taking trash out of banquet meeting rooms, refreshing water, pad and pens, setting up banquet rooms (sometimes very little time to flip a room from one event to the next) and moving boxes for customers, to name a few."

"Overall it was a very good job, supervisor has been really nice and supportive. The growth chances are not very good. Felt like I have lots more potential and was using only 40% of my knowledge at work. Would have liked to work on Oracle EBS system too. Struggled to get access to data source for the project."
